Garden Catalogs 2019--ChilePlants.com
For gardeners who are fond of chile peppers, this catalog is a necessity. Despite the name, the company sells various items besides chiles and other peppers. The catalog features so many seeds and plants of eggplants and tomatoes. Appropriately enough, over half of the catalog is devoted to the chile pepper varieties.

Seed orders are only shipped January through March.

For each chile or pepper variety, this provides an in-depth description of the plant and the fruit, days to maturity, place of origin, hotness scale, and suggested uses. Following the individual listings of the pepper varieties, readers will find the pepper quick scan chart, which compares the different varieties. Many of these pepper varieties have ornamental value although that isn’t stressed in the variety descriptions.

Following the pepper quick scan chart, there is a four page chart with information on using each variety. The categories include varieties for canning and processing, fresh salsa, stuffing, mole, drying, crafts, and the like.

For the tomatoes and eggplants, the catalog also has quick scan charts as well. In addition, there is a tomato use chart for the tomato varieties listing the ones to use for canning, salsa, stuffed, tomato paste, compact plants, and those suited to containers. Those tomato varieties that are heirloom are identified.

The catalog also lists a number of great gardening books. The company also sells organic fertilizers and insecticidal soap. All of these three items are shipped free of charge.

Other items of interest include the company’s chile pepper jewelry, t-shirts, and caps.

In the back of the catalog, there are detailed instructions on planting and caring for the plants. Some growing information is also found elsewhere in the catalog for the different crops.

During the growing season in September and October, Chile Plants also ships fresh chiles. These are grown organically on the farm. Twenty-two chile varieties are available.

The catalog also lists an Edible Chile Art, which is described as a collage of delicious chiles. This would be suitable for serving during parties and special occasions. As with the fresh chiles from the farm, the collage is only available from September to early October.

At the front of the catalog, readers will find a helpful table of contents. There is a flat rate shipping chart of $5 for a minimum of five seed packs. Seeds and gardening supplies are shipped from January to March only.

Chile Pepper also sells plants of chile peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes. These are guaranteed to be in healthy condition when they reach you. According to the shipping date the buyer chooses, these plants are shipped from March 25th to June 10th.
